     From 1 October 1910, her married name became Cobbe.1

     General Sir Alexander Stanhope Cobbe, V.C. was born on 5 June 1870 at Naini Tal, India.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Alexander Hugh Cobbe.1 He married Winifred Ada Bowen, daughter of Sir Albert Edward Bowen, 1st Bt. and Alice Anita Crowther, on 1 October 1910.1 He died on 29 June 1931 at age 61 at Shambrook, Bedfordshire, England.1,2 He was buried at St. Peter's Church, Shambrook, Bedfordshire, England.2
     General Sir Alexander Stanhope Cobbe, V.C. was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He fought in the Somaliliand Expedition.3 He was decorated with the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 20 January 1903, for his actions on 6 October 1902.1,3 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.).1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).1
