     F/O Alexander William Locke Cobbe was born on 2 April 1919.1 He was the son of General Sir Alexander Stanhope Cobbe, V.C. and Winifred Ada Bowen.2 He died on 8 September 1940 at age 21, killed in action in the Battle of Britain.1
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1

     Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe was born on 7 April 1873.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Alexander Hugh Cobbe and Emily Barbara Jones.2 He married Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot, daughter of General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot and Caroline Charlotte Clarke, on 12 October 1904.1 He died on 27 May 1915 at age 42, killed in action at sea in H.M.S. Irene.1
     He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, EnglandG.1 He lived at Swaraton, Fleet, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1

General Sir Charles Arbuthnott 2
     General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot was born on 19 May 1824 at Killaloe, County Clare, IrelandG.2 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Alexander Arbuthnot.2 He married Caroline Charlotte Clarke, daughter of William Clarke, on 27 October 1868.2 He died on 14 April 1899 at age 74.2
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 He was commissioned on 18 June 1843 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, in the service of the Royal Artillery.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Crimean War, where he was severely wounded.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)2 He fought in the Afghan War.2 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Madras Army in 1886.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He was Colonel Commandant of the Royal Artillery in 1893.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1894.2

     Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot was the daughter of General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot and Caroline Charlotte Clarke.2,3 She married Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe, son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Alexander Hugh Cobbe and Emily Barbara Jones, on 12 October 1904.1 She died on 31 August 1945.1
     From 12 October 1904, her married name became Cobbe.

Repulse.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

     From 28 December 1939, her married name became Cobbe. From 16 September 1957, her married name became Quiney.1
