     Catherine Bowyer-Smijth was born illegitimately, but legitimised in Scotland in 1918 on 2 February 1861.1 She was the daughter of Sir William Bowyer-Smijth, 11th Bt. and Eliza Fechnie Malcolm.1 She married Alfred Albert Tindall in 1890.1 She died on 7 July 1935 at age 74.1
     From 1890, her married name became Tindall.1
