     Peter Leonard Brooke, Baron Brooke of Sutton Mandeville was born on 3 March 1934.1 He is the son of Henry Brooke, Baron Brooke of Cumnor and Barbara Muriel Mathews, Baroness Brooke of Ystrafellte.1 He married, firstly, Joan Margaret Smith, daughter of Frederick George Smith, on 17 March 1964.1 He married, secondly, Lindsay (?) in 1991.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He was President of Oxford Union in 1957.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He graduated from Harvard Business School, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., in 1959 with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1960 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Henry Brooke, Baron Brooke of Cumnor 2
     Henry Brooke, Baron Brooke of Cumnor was born on 9 April 1903.3 He married Barbara Muriel Mathews, Baroness Brooke of Ystrafellte, daughter of Reverend Alfred Augustus Mathews and Ethel Frances Evans, on 22 April 1933.4 He died on 29 March 1984 at age 80.1
     He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1955.1 He was invested as a Companion of Honour (C.H.) in 1964.1 He was created Baron Brooke of Cumnor, of Cumnor in the Royal County of Berks [U.K. Life Peer] on 20 July 1966.3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.5
