     Thomas Delves Broughton was born on 21 July 1778 at Broughton Hall, Broughton, Staffordshire, England.2 He was the son of Rev. Sir Thomas Broughton, 6th Bt. and Mary Wicker.1 He was baptised on 26 August 1778.1 He married Elizabeth Hester Rowlls Legh, daughter of John Rowlls Legh, on 28 March 1800.1 He died on 24 January 1846 at age 67.1

     From 28 March 1800, her married name became Broughton.1
