     Sir Samuel Hannay, 3rd Bt. was the son of William Hannay and Margaret Johnston.1 He married Mary Mead in 1768.1 He died on 11 December 1790.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered in January 1791.1
     Sir Samuel Hannay, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Hannay, of Mochrum, co. Kirkcudbright [N.S., 1630] on 26 September 1783.1 He lived at Kirkdale, Galloway, Scotland.1
