     Sir Walter Scott of Rankilburn and Murthockston was the son of Robert Scott of Rankilburn and Murthockston.1 He died on 11 September 1402, killed in action.1
     On 7 December 1389 he was granted charter of the territorial Barony of Kirkurd, by King Robert II.1 He fought in the Battle of Homildon Hill on 11 September 1402.1

     Anthony Brunner was born on 21 May 1901.1 He was the son of Harold Roscoe Brunner and Ethel Houston.1 He married Amy Phyllis Ivy Felicity Whittaker on 5 March 1934.1 He died in 1970.1
     Anthony Brunner was baptised with the name of Egbert Sidney Houston Brunner.1 He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 On 18 October 1919 his name was legally changed to Anthony Brunner by deed poll.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Artillery (Territorial Army).1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1924 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1
