     Colin Campbell of Glenure was the son of Patrick Campbell, 3rd of Barcaldine and Lucy Cameron.2 He married Janet Mackay, daughter of Colonel Hon. Hugh Mackay of Bighouse, on 9 May 1749.3 He died on 14 May 1752, murdered by Allan Breck Stewart.3
     Colin Campbell of Glenure was Government Factor on forfeited estates of Stewart of Ardsheil, Cameron of Callart, Mamore and part of that of Cameron of Lochiel.3 He gained the rank of Officer in the service of the Loudon’s Highlanders.3
     He had three other daughters.3
