     John Campbell of Barcaldine was born circa 1700.1 He was the son of Patrick Campbell, 3rd of Barcaldine and Agnes Campbell.1,2 He married Margaret Campbell, daughter of unknown Campbell of Keithock.1 He died on 12 April 1777.1
     John Campbell of Barcaldine gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Argyll Militia.1 He was a factor to the Earl of Breadalbane and Holland.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Argyll.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Argyll.1 He was later a factor on the forfeited Perth, Strathallan, and Gask estates.1 Being deeply in debt, he sold the family estates to his half-brother, Duncan.1

     Patrick Campbell, 3rd of Barcaldine was born in 1677.3 He was the son of Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine and Mary Campbell.2 He married, firstly, Agnes Campbell.3 He married, secondly, Lucy Cameron, daughter of Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel, 17th Chief of Clan Cameron and Jean Barclay, in 1707.4 He died in 1738.4
