Catherine Burton was born on 25 February 1773 at Bramley Hall, Harasworth, Yorkshire, England.1 She was the daughter of John Burton.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Montagu Roger Burgoyne, 8th Bt., son of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Burgoyne, 7th Bt. and Charlotte Frances Johnstone, on 1 November 1794.1 She died on 1 May 1855 at age 82 at Eaton Square, London, England.1 Her will was probated in June 1855.1

Sir John Montagu Burgoyne, 10th Bt. was born on 23 October 1832 at London, England.1 He was the son of Colonel Sir John Montagu Burgoyne, 9th Bt. and Mary Henrietta Gore-Langton.1 He married, firstly, Amy Smith, daughter of Captain Henry Nealson Smith, on 10 November 1858.1 He married, secondly, Katherine Louisa Gretton, daughter of John Gretton and Marianne Louisa Molineux, on 8 October 1903.2 He died on 19 March 1921 at age 88.2
Sir John Montagu Burgoyne, 10th Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was commissioned in 1850.1 He fought in the Battle of Alma.1 He succeeded to the title of 10th Baronet Burgoyne, of Sutton, co. Bedford [E., 1641] on 17 March 1858.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1860 in the service of the Grenadier Guards.1 He retired from the military in 1871.1
