Muriel Annette Burns was born on 15 January 1893.1 She was the daughter of James Cleland Burns, 3rd Baron Inverclyde of Castle Wemyss and Charlotte Mary Emily Nugent-Dunbar.1 She married Alexander John Hew Maclean, 16th of Ardgour on 5 September 1918.1 She died on 29 January 1969 at age 76.1
     From 5 September 1918, her married name became Maclean.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1
