     Louis Emmanuel de Valois, Duc d'Angoulême gained the rank of Colonel-General of Light Horse.1 He held the office of Governor of Provence.1 He succeeded to the title of Duc d'Angoulême in 1650.1

     Major Sir William Arthur Hamar Bass, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 December 1879.1 He was the son of Hamar Alfred Bass and Hon. Louisa Bagot.2 He married Lady Wilmot Ida Noreen Hastings, daughter of Francis Power Plantagenet Hastings, 14th Earl of Huntingdon, on 9 June 1903.1 He died in 1952, without issue.1
     Major Sir William Arthur Hamar Bass, 2nd Bt. fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Bass [U.K., 1882] on 1 February 1909.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 10th Hussars.1
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
