     John Bourke, 1st Baron of Ardenerie was the son of Oliver Bourke and unknown O'Donnell.1 He died on 24 November 1580.1
     He was also known as John de Burgo.1 On 14 June 1570 he defended Ireland against the encroachments of Fitton, President of Connaught.1 He was appointed Knight in April 1576 at Athlone, IrelandG.1 He was created 1st Baron Ardenerie [Ireland] in May 1580.1

William Bourke1

     William Bourke was born circa 1560.1 He was the son of John Bourke, 1st Baron of Ardenerie.1 He died in 1591, accidentally killed.1
     In July 1579 he was sent to Sir France Walsingham, with whom he remained for 2 or 3 years, and thereafrer was known as 'Walsingham's man.2' He succeeded as the 2nd Baron of Ardenerie [I., 1580] on 24 November 1580, de jure, although he does not appear to have assumed the title, nor did any of his descendants.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Sligo in 1583.2
     The Barony of Argenerie is deemed to have become dormant on his death.2

     John Bourke was born circa 1570.1 He was the son of John Bourke, 1st Baron of Ardenerie.1
     He matriculated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 9 February 1587/88.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple on 30 October 1594.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Mayo in 1598.1
