     Richard Godolphin Long was baptised on 12 November 1761 at West Lavington, Wiltshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Richard Long and Meliora Lambe.1 He married Florentina Wrey, daughter of Sir Bourchier Wrey, 6th Bt. and Ellen Thresher, on 27 March 1786 at Tavistock House, Devon, England.2 He died on 1 July 1835 at age 73 at Rood Ashton, Wiltshire, England.2 He was buried at Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire, England.2 His will was probated on 8 August 1835.2
     Richard Godolphin Long held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wiltshire between 1806 and 1818.1 He founded the Wiltshire Yeomanry.1 He lived at Rood Ashton, Wiltshire, England.1
