     John d'Argentine was born circa April 1318.1 He was the son of John d'Argentine and Agnes Bereford.1 He married Margaret Darcy, daughter of Robert Darcy and Joan (?).1 He died on 18 November 1382, without legitimate male issue.1 He was also reported to have died on 26 November 1382.1

     John Erskine, 17th/1st Earl of Mar was the son of John Erskine, 5th Lord Erskine and Lady Margaret Campbell. He married Annabel Murray, daughter of Sir William Murray of Tullibardine and Katherine Campbell.1 He died in 1572.
     John Erskine, 17th/1st Earl of Mar gained the title of 6th Lord Erskine. He held the office of Regent of Scotland.1 He succeeded to the title of 17th Earl of Mar [S., c. 1115] from 11 July 1555 to November 1555, de jure.2 He was created 1st Earl of Mar in 1565.
