     Nathaniel Rothschild was born on 2 July 1812.1 He was the son of Nathan Mayer Rothschild and Hannah Cohen.2 He married Charlotte de Rothschild, daughter of James Mayer de Rothschild and Betty Rothschild, on 17 August 1842.1 He died on 19 February 1870 at age 57.1
     He had two younger sons and a daughter, all of whom died unmarried.2
