Robert fitz Maldred, Lord of Raby was born circa 1170 at Raby, County Durham, England.2 He was the son of Maldred fitz Dolfin, Lord of Raby and unknown de Stuteville. He married Isabel de Neville, daughter of Geoffrey (VI) de Neville and Emma de Bulmer, circa 1213 in a Brancepeth, Co. Durham, England marriage.2 He died between 25 June 1242 and 26 May 1248.1
Robert fitz Maldred, Lord of Raby gained the title of Lord of Raby, co. Durham [Feudal].1 He was Commissioner to collect an aid (irregular tax) in Northumberland in 1230.1 He gained the title of Lord of Brancepeth, co. Durham [Feudal].1 He fought in the King Henry II's campaign against the Welsh in August 1241.1
