     William Henry Cadman was born on 12 August 1880.1 He was the son of James Cope Cadman and Betty Keeling.2 He married Lucy Lloyd Whitworth, daughter of A. H. Whitworth.1 He died on 20 February 1960 at age 79.1
     William Henry Cadman graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Chemical Engineers (M.I.Chem.E.).1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 1st/6th Manchester Regiment Territorial Forces, and seconded to the Royal Engineers Special Brigade.1 He was decorated with the award of MRI Silver Medallist.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Chemical Society (F.C.S.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Institute of Chemistry (F.R.I.C.).1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Home Guard.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Technical Force.1 He was invested as a Royal Scottish Academician (R.S.A.) between 1945 and 1946.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1946.1
