     Robert Walter Carden was born on 1 July 1875.1 He was the son of Alexander James Carden and Anne Rule Clements.2 He married Ethel May Johns, daughter of Lemuel Johns, in June 1901.1 He died on 23 February 1943 at age 67.1
     Robert Walter Carden gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Engineers.1
