William Hore was the son of Colonel William Hore and Catherine Shapland.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Dorothy Ponsonby, daughter of William Ponsonby, 1st Viscount Duncannon and Mary Moore.1 He married, secondly, Mary Grogan, daughter of John Grogan, on 29 August 1743.1 He died in February 1745.1
William Hore was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.).1 He lived at Harperstown, Taghmon, County Wexford, Ireland.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Taghmon between 1727 and 1731.1 He held the office of Attorney-General [Ireland].1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Taghmon between 1741 and 1745.1
