Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir John Nicolson and Sabina Colyear.2 He died on 2 January 1699.1
He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Nicolson, of Carnock, co. Stirling [N.S., 1637] on 9 June 1688.1 In 1693 he sold Tillicoultrie.1

Major Sir George Nicolson of Carnock, 6th Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 5th Bt.2 He married Charlotte Halkett, daughter of Edward Halkett.1 He died in October 1771 at The Hague, The Netherlands.1
He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Nicolson, of Carnock, co. Stirling [N.S., 1637] on 2 January 1699.1 He gained the rank of Major before 1746 in the service of the a Scottish regiment in Dutch service.1
