     He was educated at Cheltham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was commissioned in 1945, in the service of the Coldstream Guards.1 He was Commanding Officer of the Royal Dragoons between 1965 and 1968.2 He was Commander of the 3rd Division, Royal Armoured Corps between 1974 and 1976.2 He was Director of the Royal Armoured Corps between 1976 and 1978.2 He was Chief Exececutive of Main Battle Tank 80 Project between 1979 and 1980.2 He was Director of Armoured Warfare Studies in 1981.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1981.1 He was defence advisor to GKN between 1983 and 1988.2 He lived in 2003 at The Border House, Cholderton, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1
