Major Robert Gordon Handcock was born on 25 April 1849.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Robert French Handcock and Isabella Louisa Gordon.2 He married Hon. Audrey Mary Florence Abbott, daughter of Charles Stuart Aubrey Abbott, 3rd Baron Tenterden, on 30 March 1882.1 He died on 13 December 1906 at age 57, without issue.1
