     Sir Reginald Cathcart, 6th Bt. was born on 19 December 1838 at Adlestrop House, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir John Andrew Cathcart, 5th Bt. and Lady Hannah Eleanor Kennedy.1 He married Emily Eliza Steele Pringle, daughter of John Robert Pringle and Hester Helen McNeill, on 8 December 1880 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 14 May 1916 at age 77, without issue.2
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1859 in the Coldstream Guards.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1863 in the 68th Foot.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Cathcart, of Carleton, co. Ayr [N.S., 1704] on 25 March 1878.1

     Emily Eliza Steele Pringle was the daughter of John Robert Pringle and Hester Helen McNeill.1 She married, firstly, John Gordon of Cluny, son of Colonel John Gordon of Cluny, on 19 December 1865.3 She married, secondly, Sir Reginald Cathcart, 6th Bt., son of Sir John Andrew Cathcart, 5th Bt. and Lady Hannah Eleanor Kennedy, on 8 December 1880 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 6 August 1932.3
     From 19 December 1865, her married name became Gordon.1 From 8 December 1880, her married name became Cathcart.1

     John Robert Pringle was baptised on 4 October 1816 at Stitchel, Roxburghshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Sir John Pringle of Stichill, 5th Bt. and Emilia Anne Macleod.1,3 He married Hester Helen McNeill, daughter of General Malcolm McNeill, on 21 August 1844.4 He died on 5 September 1847 at age 30.4
     He was with the Madras Civil Service.1
