     Sir Edward Harington, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir James Harington, 1st Bt. and Frances Sapcote.2 He married Margery D'Oyley, daughter of John D'Oyley, on 24 September 1601.1 He died in 1653.1
     He obtained the estate of Merton through his wife.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Harington, of Ridlington, co. Rutland [E., 1611] on 2 February 1613.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland in 1622.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland in 1637.1
