     James Caulfeild is the son of James Caulfeild and Catherine Burgh.² He married Hon. Harriet Crofton, daughter of Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Bt. and Anne Croker, Baroness Crofton of Mote, on 22 May 1806.¹

     James Alfred Caulfeild, 7th Viscount Charlemont was born on 20 March 1830 at Loy House, Cookstown, County Tyrone, Ireland.³ He was the son of Edward Houston Caulfeild and Charlotte Geale.² He married Hon. Annetta Handcock, daughter of Richard Handcock, 3rd Baron Castlemaine of Moydrum and Margaret Harris, on 2 February 1858 at Athlone Church, Athlone, Ireland.⁴ He died on 4 July 1913 at age 83 at Drumcairne, County Tyrone, Ireland.³
     James Alfred Caulfeild, 7th Viscount Charlemont was educated at Germany.³ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Coldstream Guards.¹ He fought in the Crimean War.¹ He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of County Tyrone in 1868.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tyrone in 1868.¹ He was Comptroller of the Viceregal Household [Ireland] between 1868 and 1895.⁴ He was Comptroller of the Household of the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1868 and 1895.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tyrone.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tyrone.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.¹ He held the office of Usher of the Black Rod of the Order of St. Patrick between February 1879 and 1913.¹ He succeeded to the title of 7th Viscount Charlemont, co. Armagh [I., 1665] on 12 January 1892.¹ He succeeded to the title of 11th Lord Caulfeild, Baron of Charlemont, co. Armagh [I., 1620] on 12 January 1892.³ He was Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 25 May 1892.⁴
