Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Marcus Lowther-Crofton, 1st Bt. and Catherine Crofton.2 He married Anne Croker, Baroness Crofton of Mote, daughter of Thomas Croker and Anne (?), on 13 April 1767.2 He died on 30 September 1797.3 He was also reported to have died on 28 September 1797.2
Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Bt. gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Roscommon Militia.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Roscommon.4 He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roscommon and 1776-97.
