     Lt.-Col. Walter Murray was born on 13 August 1882.1 He was the son of Reverend Douglas Stuart Murray and Harriet Georgina Isabel Bridgeman.1 He married Evelyn Adie, daughter of William Edward Adie, on 15 August 1911.1 He died on 8 November 1945 at age 63.1
     Lt.-Col. Walter Murray gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He was decorated with the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1916.1 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.1
