     Brigadier Henry James Douglas Clark was born on 7 June 1888.¹ He was the son of Sir John Maurice Clark, 2nd Bt. and Helen Marder Douglas.² He married Isobel Wentworth Forbes, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Wentworth Forbes, on 30 November 1915.¹ He died in 1978.¹
     Brigadier Henry James Douglas Clark was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in depsatches and was severely wounded.¹ He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).¹ He was Brigadier of the 1st Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders between 1935 and 1937.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Stirlingshire in 1952.¹
