     Rt. Rev. Hugh Maudslay Hordern was born on 28 September 1868.1 He was the son of Herbert Loveday Cooke Hordern and Emily Maria Maudslay.1 He married Edith Augusta Sandeman, daughter of John Glas Sandeman, in 1895.1 He died on 25 March 1949 at age 80.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated in 1891 at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was ordained in 1892.1 He was the Rector between 1894 and 1910 at Singleton, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1895 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Vicar between 1910 and 1924 at St. Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Chaplain to the Forces.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Heathfield in Chichester Cathedral between 1922 and 1929.1 He held the office of Archdeacon of Lewes between 1923 and 1930.1 He was Treasurer of Chichester Cathedral between 1929 and 1949.1 He held the office of Bishop Suffragan of Lewes between 1930 and 1946.1

     Edith Augusta Sandeman is the daughter of John Glas Sandeman.1 She married Rt. Rev. Hugh Maudslay Hordern, son of Herbert Loveday Cooke Hordern and Emily Maria Maudslay, in 1895.1
     From 1895, her married name became Hordern.1 She lived in 1952 at Brook Cottage, Slaugham, Sussex, EnglandG.1

     Bridget Rolle was born in 1648.1 She was the daughter of Robert Rolle and Lady Arabella Clinton.2 She married Francis Trefusis on 23 July 1672.1 She died on 28 August 1721.1

     Elizabeth Affleck was baptised on 19 January 1713 at St. Andrew, Holborn, London, England.2 She was the daughter of Gilbert Affleck and Anna Dolben.2 She married, firstly, Robert Trefusis, son of Samuel Trefusis, on 18 March 1737.1,3 She married, secondly, Charles Charleton after 1741.3 She died in 1748.3
     From 18 March 1737, her married name became Trefusis.1 From after 1741, her married name became Charleton.3
