     William Grierson of Barquhar was born circa 1626 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag and Margaret Murray.1 He married Margaret Douglas, daughter of Sir James Douglas, circa 26 June 1654.1,2 He died after 6 December 1665 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 He was also reported to have died in 1661.1
     William Grierson of Barquhar was Tutor of Lag.2
