     Nicola Herries is the daughter of Robert Herries of Mabie.1 She married Sir John Grierson, 6th of Lag, son of Roger Grierson and Agnes Douglas, in 1529.1
     From 1529, her married name became Grierson.1

     William Grierson, 7th of Lag was born circa 1529 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir John Grierson, 6th of Lag and Nicola Herries.1 He married Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of James Gordon of Lochinvar, in 1550.1 He died before 9 March 1562.1,2
     On 10 August 1549 he had sasine of Lag.1

     Sir John Grierson of Lag was the son of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag and Margaret Murray.2 He married, secondly, Isabel Boyd, daughter of Robert Boyd, 7th Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock and Lady Christian Hamilton.2 He married by contract, firstly, Jane Fleming, daughter of John Fleming, on 19 October 1641.2,3 He died in April 1658.1 He was also reported to have died on 26 February 1658.3 His will was probated on 7 December 1658.3
