     Captain William Raymond Croft Murray was born in 1887.2 He was the son of Colonel Denman Croft Murray and Mary Margaret Willock.1,2 He married Mary Agneta Francis Boyle, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lionel Richard Cavendish Boyle and Alice Pulteney, on 24 September 1912.1 He died on 25 February 1917, from wounds received in action.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Grenadier Guards.2 He fought in the First World War.1

     He was a practising barrister.2 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Grenadier Guards.2 He was invested as a King's Counsel (K.C.).1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) in 1950.1 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1
