     Sir Richard Cox, 1st Bt. was born on 25 March 1650 at Bandon Bridge, County Cork, Ireland.1 He was the son of Captain Richard Cox and Catherine Bird. He married Mary Bourne, daughter of John Bourne, on 26 February 1673.1 He died on 3 May 1733 at age 83 at Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland.1
     Sir Richard Cox, 1st Bt. was created 1st Baronet Cox, of Dunmanway, co. Cork [Ireland] on 21 November 1706.1 He held the office of Lord High Chancellor [Ireland].
