     Rudolf Freiherr Steeb was born on 22 July 1879 at Vienna, Austria.1 He was the son of Christian Freiherr Steeb and Maria Alexia Freiin Rauch de Nyék.1 He married Hildegarde Marie Edle von Chavanne, daughter of Rudolf Edler von Chavanne and Maria Anna Künigl Gräfin zu Ehrenburg, on 6 May 1925 at St. Radegund bei Graz, Austria.1 He died on 3 December 1958 at age 79 at Graz, Austria.1
