Sir Gilbert Elliot of Headshaw, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Gilbert Elliot of Headshaw, 1st Bt. was the son of Gavin Eliott.2 He married, firstly, Helen Stevenson, daughter of Andrew Stevenson.2 He married, secondly, Jean Carre, daughter of Sir Andrew Carre, on 17 March 1692.2 He died on 1 May 1718.2
     He was created 1st Baronet Elliot, of Headshaw [Nova Scotia] on 19 April 1700.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1702 and 1707.2 He was styled as Lord Minto [Scottish Law Lord] in 1705.2 He held the office of Lord of Session in 1705.2

     Mary Elliot was born circa 1679.2 She was the daughter of Sir Gilbert Elliot of Headshaw, 1st Bt. and Helen Stevenson.3,4 She married Sir John Elphinstone, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Elphinstone of Logie, 1st Bt. and Cecilia Denholme, on 23 August 1703.1 She died on 18 May 1767 at Pilrig House, Leith, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2
     From 23 August 1703, her married name became Elphinstone.1

     Ronald William Morrison married Marie Xenia de Tunzelman, daughter of E. W. de Tunzelman, in 1911.2 He and Marie Xenia de Tunzelman were divorced in 1920.1

     Jean Rattray was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Thomas Rattray, 20th of Craighall-Rattray.1 She married, firstly, Sir James Elphinstone, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Elphinstone, 2nd Bt. and Mary Elliot, on 4 October 1733.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. George Mure on 2 April 1747.1 She died on 25 September 1765.1
     From 4 October 1733, her married name became Elphinstone.1 From 2 April 1747, her married name became Mure.1

Sir John Elphinstone, 4th Bt.1

     Sir John Elphinstone, 4th Bt. was born on 11 January 1717.1 He was the son of Sir John Elphinstone, 2nd Bt. and Mary Elliot.2 He died in January 1743, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Elphinstone, of Logie Elphinstone, co. Aberdeen and Nova Scotia [N.S., 1701] in April 1739.1 On his death, the baronetcy became dormant until 1927.1

     Charles Napier Lawrence, 1st and last Baron Lawrence of Kingsgate was born on 27 May 1855.1 He was the son of John Laird Mair Lawrence, 1st Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately and Harriette Katherine Hamilton.1 He married Catherine Sumner, daughter of Frederick Wiggin Sumner and unknown daughter Gerard, on 22 June 1881.1 He died on 17 December 1927 at age 72, without issue.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was chairman of the London North Western Railway between 1921 and 1923.1 He was chairman of the London Midland and Scottish Railway between 1923 and 1924.1 He was created 1st Baron Lawrence of Kingsgate, of Holland House, Kingsgate, co. Kent [U.K.] on 23 July 1923.1 He was chairman of the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company.1 He was chairman of the Antofagasta and Bolivia Railway.1 He was chairman of the Royal Commission on Insurance Acts between 1925 and 1926.2 On his death, his title became extinct.1
