Hon. Derek Robert Alexander Emslie, Lord Kingnorth was born on 21 June 1949.1 He is the son of George Carlyle Emslie, Baron Emslie and Lilias Ann Mailer Hannington.2 He married Elizabeth Jane Cameron Carstairs, daughter of Andrew McLaren Carstairs, in 1974.1
