     David Ronald Colville, 3rd Baron Clydesmuir was born on 8 April 1949.3 He is the son of Sir Ronald John Bilsland Colville, 2nd Baron Clydesmuir and Joan Marguerita Booth.2 He married Aline Frances Merriam, daughter of Peter Merriam, on 9 September 1978.3
     David Ronald Colville, 3rd Baron Clydesmuir was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.3 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.).3 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Clydesmuir, of Braidwood, co. Lanark [U.K., 1948] on 2 October 1996.4 He lived in 2003 at Langlees House, Biggar, Lanarkshire, Scotland.3
