     Sir William Stapleton, 3rd Bt. was born on 14 November 1674.1 He was the son of Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt. and Anne Russell.1 He married Frances Russell, daughter of Sir James Russell and Penelope Tyrrell, on 23 January 1696/97 at Stepney, Middlesex, England.1 He died on 6 December 1699 at age 25 at Nevis.1
     Sir William Stapleton, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Stapleton, of the Leeward Islands in America [E., 1679] on 17 July 1690.1

     Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt. married Anne Russell, daughter of Colonel Randolph Russell, before 1672.1 He died on 3 August 1686 at Paris, France.1
     Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt. held the office of Governor-General of the Leeward Islands.2 He was created 1st Baronet Stapleton, of the Leeward Islands in America [England] on 20 December 1679.1
