     Arthur Nicholas Coleridge was born on 19 November 1915.1 He was the son of John Duke Coleridge and Hon. Katharine Euphemia Godley.2 He married Lady Marguerite Georgina Hay, daughter of William George Montagu Hay, 11th Marquess of Tweeddale, on 20 September 1941.1 He died in May 1988 at age 72.1
     Arthur Nicholas Coleridge was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1937 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1939 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Irish Guards.1
