     He fought in the Battle of Crécy, in the second division under the Earl of Arundel.¹ He fought in the Siege of Calais from 1346 to 1347.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wiltshire in 1364/65.¹ In 1381/82 he received commissions to suppress and punish the Peasant's Revolts in Hampshire and Wiltshire, but was reprimanded for his leniency.¹ He lived at Hempston Cantelupe, Devon, England^G.¹
