     Sir Owen West was the son of Sir Thomas West, 8th Lord la Warre and Eleanor Copley.1 He married Mary Guildford, daughter of George Guildford and Elizabeth Mortimer.1 He died on 18 July 1551.1 He was buried at Wherwell, Hampshire, England.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 30 October 1561.2
     His last will was dated 17 July 1551.2

     Sir Adrian Poynings was born illegitimately at Ghent, Belgium.1,2 He was the son of Sir Edward Poynings and Rose Whethill.1,2 He married Mary West, daughter of Sir Owen West and Mary Guildford, before 1559.1,3 He died on 15 February 1570/71 at St. Benet Paul's Wharf, London, England.2 He died intestate and his estate was administered to his widow on 22 February 1570/71.2
     He held the office of Lieutenant of Boulogne in 1546.2 He held the office of Lieutenant of Boulogne Citadel in 1546.2 He held the office of Captain of Boulogne from 1546 to 1547.2 He fought in the Battle of St. Quintin in 1557.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire circa 1559.2 He held the office of Burgess for Tregony in 1559.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset in 1561.2 He held the office of Marshal of Boulogne in 1562.2 He held the office of Steward of the Duchy of Lancaster for Dorset in 1566.2 He held the office of Vice-Admiral of Hampshire in 1570.2
