     Maj.-Gen. Sir Robert Anthony Pigot, 7th Bt. was born on 6 July 1915.3 He was the son of George Douglas Hugh Pigot and Hersey Elizabeth Maltby.2 He married, firstly, Honor Amelia Gibbon, daughter of Captain Wilfred St. Martin Gibbon, on 7 October 1942.3 He married, secondly, Sarah Anne Colville, daughter of David Richard Colville and Lady Joan Child-Villiers, on 28 September 1968.1 He died in 1986.1
     Maj.-Gen. Sir Robert Anthony Pigot, 7th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Anthony.1 He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.3 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He was with the Directing Staff between 1946 and 1948 at Staff College, Camberley, Surrey, England.3 He gained the rank of Major-General in the service of the Royal Marines.3 He was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1959.3 He was Chief of Staff, Royal Marines between 1960 and 1964.3 He was Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1964.3 He was managing director of Bone Brothers between 1964 and 1966.3 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Pigot, of Patshull, Staffordshire [G.B., 1764] on 27 December 1977.1
