     Ethel Cotton is the daughter of Henry Calveley Lynch Cotton and Clara Loch.²

     William Gordon Lynch Cotton was born on 9 August 1838.¹ He was the son of Colonel Hugh Calveley Cotton and Louisa Brodie.² He married, firstly, Emma Clough, daughter of John Clough, on 27 January 1866.¹ He married, secondly, Maggie Miller Hay, daughter of Robert Hay, in 1889.¹ He married, thirdly, Adelaide Cicely Sandford, daughter of Charles Vavasour Sandford, on 3 April 1905.¹ He died on 23 January 1911 at age 72.¹
     He was with the Public Works Derpartment, India.¹ He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.).¹

     John Clough lived at Newbold Hall, Market Weighton, Yorkshire, England.¹

     Emma Clough was the daughter of John Clough.² She married William Gordon Lynch Cotton, son of Colonel Hugh Calveley Cotton and Louisa Brodie, on 27 January 1866.¹ She died in 1885.¹
      From 27 January 1866, her married name became Cotton.

     Hugh Gordon Cotton was born on 23 July 1869.¹ He was the son of William Gordon Lynch Cotton and Emma Clough.² He married Gertrude Mary Parsons, daughter of Charles Parsons, on 5 January 1903.¹ He died in 1942.¹

     Gertrude Mary Parsons is the daughter of Charles Parsons.² She married Hugh Gordon Cotton, son of William Gordon Lynch Cotton and Emma Clough, on 5 January 1903.¹
      From 5 January 1903, her married name became Cotton.

     Vivienne Mary Cotton was born in 1903.¹ She is the daughter of Hugh Gordon Cotton and Gertrude Mary Parsons.²

     Thomas Calveley Cotton was born on 8 September 1873.¹ He was the son of William Gordon Lynch Cotton and Emma Clough.² He died in 1895.¹

     John Delves Lynch Cotton was born on 25 November 1881.¹ He was the son of William Gordon Lynch Cotton and Emma Clough.² He died in 1887.¹
