     Lawrence Peel Massy was born in 1883.1 He was the son of Reverend Xavier Peel Massy and Harriet Emily Hurlstone.2 He married Constance Jean Anne Galletly, daughter of John James Galletly, on 27 October 1914.1 He died on 22 September 1932.2
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Reserve.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1917.1
