     He was ancestor of the Poyntzs of North Ockenden, Essex, which became extinct in 1709.1 He received the moiety of Hoo from his brother.1 He lived at Hoo, Kent, England.1

     Sir John Poyntz lived at Iron Acton, Gloucestershire, England.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Gloucestershire in 1363.1
