     Reverend Charles Poyntz was born in 1735.1 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Stephen Poyntz and Anne Maria Mordaunt.2 He died on 10 May 1809, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was the Rector in 1760 at North Creake, Norfolk, England.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Langwan in Llandaff Cathedral in 1769.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.).1 He held the office of Canon of Durham in 1784.1

     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Marines.1 He lived at Padworth, Berkshire, England.1
