Michael Ingoldsby Massy was born on 8 January 1920.1 He was the son of Major William Ingoldsby Justice Massy and Adam Mary Frances Simpson.1 He married Penelope Louise Sassoon, daughter of Captain Sassoon Joseph Sassoon and Dulcie Franklin, on 18 May 1944.1 He died on 4 August 1944 at age 24, killed on flying operations.1
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant/Navigator in the 635 Squadron, Royal Air Force and Pathfinder Force.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
