     Robert Porrett Collier, 1st Baron Monkswell of Monkswell was born on 21 June 1817.2 He was the son of John Collier and Emma Porrett.3 He married Isabella Rose Rose, daughter of William Rose Rose, on 14 April 1844.2 He died on 27 October 1886 at age 69.2
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1841 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He was a practising barrister in 1843.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Plymouth between 1852 and 1871.2 He was invested as a Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1854.2 He held the office of Recorder of Penzance.2 He was Judge Advocate the Fleet and Counsel of the Admirallty between 1859 and 1863.2 He was invested as a Knight in 1863.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1863 and 1866.2 He held the office of Attorney-General between 1868 and 1871.2 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1871.2 He held the office of Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in 1871.2 He held the office of Judge of the Judicial Committee, Privy Council.2 He was created 1st Baron Monkswell of Monkswell, co. Devon [U.K.] on 1 July 1885.2

     Marian Huxley was born in 1859.2 She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Thomas Henry Huxley and Henrietta Anne Heathorn.1,2 She married Hon. John Collier, son of Robert Porrett Collier, 1st Baron Monkswell of Monkswell and Isabella Rose Rose, on 30 June 1879.3 She died on 18 November 1887.3
      From 1879, her married name became Collier.1

Joyce Collier1

     Joyce Collier was the daughter of Hon. John Collier and Marian Huxley.1 She married, firstly, Leslie Crawshay-Williams, son of Arthur John Williams, on 27 April 1906.2 She and Leslie Crawshay-Williams were divorced in 1918.2 She married, secondly, Drysdale Kilburn, son of Nicholas Kilburn, on 2 November 1918.2 She died on 21 November 1972.2
     She was a portrait miniaturist.2 From 27 April 1906, her married name became Crawshay-Williams. She was registered as a member of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters.2 From 2 November 1918, her married name became Kilburn.

     Drysdale Kilburn was the son of Nicholas Kilburn.2 He married Joyce Collier, daughter of Hon. John Collier and Marian Huxley, on 2 November 1918.3 He died on 13 March 1940.3

      From 1 April 1889, her married name became Collier.1

     Sir Laurence Collier was born on 13 June 1890.1 He was the son of Hon. John Collier and Ethel Huxley.2 He married Eleanor Antoinette Watson, daughter of William Luther Watson, on 31 May 1917.1 He died in 1976.1
     He was educated at Bedales School, Petersfield, Hampshire, England.1 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1913 and 1951.2 He was Minister to Norwegian Government in London in 1941.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1944.1 He held the office of Ambassador Extraordiary and Plenipotentiary to Norway in 1945.1
