     William Stanley gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry Cavalry.1 He lived at Ponsonby Hall, Cumberland, England.1 He lived Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cumberland.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cumberland.1
